The Introduction to Technical Diving Course introduces divers to the
world of technical diving. It is designed as a introductory course
to the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Course.
The objective of the course is to familiarize the student with
technical gear configurations enhancing open water diving skills
such as buoyancy, trim, fining techniques and situational
awareness.
Students will be introduced to advanced gas planning techniques
within a No-Decompression context.
Student must complete a minimum of 3 open water dives with no depth
exceeding 75 feet. (remember it's a technical introduction
course, so narcosis susceptibility will be controlled)
Prerequisites: Minimum Age 15 years
(with parental consent), Advanced Open Water Diver or
equivalent and show proof of 25 logged dives.
Divers must have a underwater slate, two timing
devices and a minimum 25 lb lift bag in addition to standard scuba
equipment suitable to the environment. Double cylinders will be
introduced but are not required, however are recommended.
Course fees do not include charter boat, park access fees, equipment rentals or sales.
